SIMPLE STEPS TO LITURGICAL LIVING! You can do this! 😍👊

I remember the curiosity, excitement and overwhelm with first hearing of the liturgical-living-mom-life. It seemed the theme baked cupcakes, family evening rosaries, saint book displays were so complicated – How’s she doing it all? Where do I start?

Here’s how. She started small. One birthday song. One feast day. One phone app saint prayer. One desire to unite to the rhythm of our beautiful church.

I bought a @blessedisshe__ planner, a glorious cheat sheet to liturgical feasts! Read @kendra_tierney AMAZING book, filled with simple do-able ideas. Followed some liturgical powerhouse mamas like @showerofroses @haleycarrots @catholicsprouts

They advised to start small. Assured that just as it tends to get easier with each baby, it gets easier with each feast. The effort builds, the one Hail Mary becomes a decade, follow @onehailmaryatatime

I asked my husband to take this photo to show our 15-minute ritual from Mama Mary’s birthday:

- 2-minute discussion about “the nice old woman in the picture,” 😘
- quick candlelit decade with 3 rambunctious boys 🤪🙏
- birthday song to Mary 🙌🏻
- bowls of store-bought chocolate ice cream 😊

It took VERY little energy or preparation, mostly just mustering the mom will. But the kids will remember.

Mama, you got this. You can look at the moms rocking feast days with #joyoverjealously, knowing it won’t look perfect and isn’t supposed to. It’s the intention of the heart. God will use YOUR talents, not punish your lack of baking or craft-making, to slowly incorporate to your family’s calendar.

Step 1) pick one feast day this fall to celebrate.

Step 2) sing happy feast day during a meal, pull up a Catholic app to read or quick book you have on hand.

Step 3) follow the accounts & books I’ve listed

Step 4) keep it simple & watch what happens with the small seed you faithfully plant!
