Beauty of Advent Week #4 - Love

“I don’t understand, how can He love me with all the horrible things I’ve done?”

“You’re a mom right?” the priest gently asked, “and you love your kids? No matter what?”

BAMB. Sobbing through tears, post-partum with my second, on my first theology of the body retreat - having my first mom-identity crisis. The should, should nots, doubts, anxieties. I’ll forever treasure priest’s wisdom.

Reminding me of God’s unconditional love. Freely given. Just as we freely love a newborn baby!
Challenging me to accept it against a life-long battle of earning and performing.

Do I still believe? That I don’t have to do anything more this Advent, this year, this life, for Him to love me? Do I know I’m His beloved daughter no matter what?

Like Mary’s fiat to the angel, let’s give OUR YES to Him this Christmas!

Let’s let him freely love us. Let’s remember how He sees US, as we see those precious newborn children! Let’s remember what He taught us by becoming small in that manger 😘

“What really matters in life is that we are loved by Christ and that we love Him in return. In comparison to the love of Jesus, everything else is secondary. And, without the love of Jesus, everything is useless.” Saint John Paul 2

Life is precious! Love is unconditional! Let’s let the children remind us 🙌🏻🙏

What helps you accept God’s unconditional love? Does the newborn baby analogy and picture help?
❤️
