Back on the Blog!!!! JoyMama 2021 Update!

I started this draft a few weeks ago when I felt like I was just catching my breathe getting back to my blog!!! It was almost 10 months since I’d updated my website, my free time was spent engaging Instagram! Lots to say about that experience, and although it’s been a blessing in many ways, I see how my tendencies to commit too much to one platform can also be a downfall, and how “moderation in everything,” is the key :) So many things I’d want to share with my readers that happened from 2021 and I promise to get back to writing and updating motherhood ideas soon! For now here are:

8 Things I’d want to tell moms:

  1. I see now how fast it goes. I see how important each day is in childhood. I see the magic of childhood now in a whole new light. God has given me this window into seeing how much of a blessing children are. You want to be pro-life? You want to make a difference in the world? Pour out your heart, your talents and your time into your family. This is how we do it. This is truly the magic of motherhood.

  2. Things change at age 5. Theres an intensity in the 5 & under crowd that drains your brain power in a different way when they can’t really be left alone or do ANYTHING for themselves…but I’d want to tell moms how short of a time that is. By age 5, they reach a new level of maturity and in many ways you’d wish to go back.

  3. The need for community and asking for help. This past year becoming a full time mom of four - I’ve learned not how MORE I can do, but how much MORE I need help. I’ve had to learn how as moms we all get help in different ways.

  4. A children’s work is PLAY. Their need to discover new things through play. The reminder how important playing “store,” and dressing up is!

  5. Education matters so much! Mothers have the gift of observation. This is the basis for my motherhood journal, we have the gift of observing our children…this is a GIFT.

  6. “Be who you are.” So many failed lessons this past year in trying to be a certain type of mom, or doubting myself with sports decisions or others…and the biggest lesson is to be the type of mom you were meant to be! Keep repeating, “Be who you were meant to be and you will set the world on fire.”

  7. Motherhood is about learning the unique gifts of each child. Learning how each one is “wonderfully made,” and what are the things that make their soul light up! You will be so surprised how different things inspire different children, it still amazes me and just another lesson that they are not ours, they are God’s children :) We simply have to love and foster the way God made them :)

  8. Trust yourself and trust in God. Keep going and know how important your motherhood is! Don’t doubt yourself, and keep trusting in God. Choosing joy is an interior disposition, even when you don’t “feel” joyful in your motherhood, you can still keep that interior peace, you got this!

In Joy,

Alex
